Top Dog Education is South Africa’s leading online learning platform and at the forefront of online education for Grades 4 to 12 and Cambridge International Education from Checkpoint to A Level.

We’re looking for two BUSINESS DEVELOPERS as follows:

NB: if your main experience is in store sales or retail sales, this is NOT what we’re looking for. Our ideal candidates have experience in sales of educational products or similar that involves setting up meetings, driving to potential clients and business partners, closing deals and cold calling.

BUSINESS DEVELOPER – CORPORATE & INTERNATIONAL
Role:  Business Developer

Team:  Business Development Team

Reports to:  Chief Operating Officer – Tim Campbell

 JOB DESCRIPTION

Acquire new corporate and international clients for Top Dog Education, with a specific focus on signing large corporate, strategic partnership and reseller deals for the MyTopDog and CambriLearn products.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build an individual sales strategy that is aligned to Top Dog’s business strategy and the strategy of the Business Development Team
  • Execute sales strategy according to agreed timelines and objectives
  • Generate leads through research, personal network and new market opportunities
  • Acquire relevant clients in line with agreed targets and KPI’s
  • Manage the relationship with key clients, partners and resellers.
  • Attend client and business development events as and when needed
  • Ensure regular reporting on business development progress
  • Partner with the Business Development Team to meet team targets
  • Ensure a seamless client onboarding experience while working closely with the Operations and Client Support teams
  • Maintain the Top Dog brand promise in all engagements with potential and existing clients, ensuring a quality and unique client experience is delivered consistently
  • Partner closely with the Top Dog Marketing Team to ensure alignment of strategies and maximum leverage
  • Gain client experience insight and channel it into the business to influence change
  • Manage timelines, expectations and relationships with all stakeholders
  • Stay abreast of global market trends and Top Dog’s competitors in order to speak about the industry and differentiate Top Dog’s value proposition.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a sales and client relationship management role
  • Relevant business qualification (degree or diploma)
  • Existing corporate and/or international network
  • Experience working within the education and/or EdTech industry, (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong & assertive sales ability
  • Ability to persuade and influence
  • Proven sales and client acquisition track record
  • Ability to network and collaborate internally and externally
  • Good verbal, negotiation and written communication skills
